The words "author" and "authority" come from the same root word meaning "to invent." When He was here, Jesus walked around like He owned the place...like He authored it. He claimed authority over...well, everything. He claimed that He was authoring something new. A new way, a new faith, a new world view, and yet we continue to hold onto the old. We tend to live (and die) by what we have heard...Jesus has another way. "But I say," this Sunday at Mendham Hills.
