Grocery Lists & Lucky Charms

March 13, 2022

I've noticed something about myself lately that has given me pause. It has to do with what is often referred to as my "prayer life." Truth is, it had turned more into a list than a life. My approach to God had become more like that of a person ordering groceries online or relying on some kind of cosmic rabbit foot. Now, I know better...I just wasn't doing better. The vast majority of the time I spent in prayer was spent asking for things, and here's the truth: those prayers didn't seem too effective because I wasn't getting any of them. Have you noticed this in your prayer life too? This Sunday we stop treating God like a gumball machine and relearn how to pray.
