Here Comes The Judge

October 31, 2021

This week I came across a cartoon drawing of Saint Peter at the pearly gates. It was a modern-day take on an old joke, as he was sitting in front of a computer telling the recently "dearly departed" that "sorry, your user name and password don't match." It was a light take on a heavy topic - Judgement Day. The Bible warns of it and the Creed affirms it, but many have taken to wonder if belief in a final judgement is mythical at best, or dangerous at worst. Everybody wants to go to Heaven but nobody wants to be judged. Will we be judged based on a curve? And who's doing the judging, anyway? Understanding and embracing Jesus, our Judge, this Sunday at Mendham Hills.
